KIT3 is a partnership of Melbourne-based filmmakers,

Stephen Di Gravio and Xavier Brydges.

With a friendship born out of a broken 50mm lens and years of being mistaken for one another at university, these two filmmakers decided to morph into one single, unified gelatinous blob as they continue to pursue their passion for weird, wild and sincere storytelling under the KIT3 umbrella.

Stephen Di Gravio

Stephen Di Gravio is a Naarm/Melbourne-based writer, director, and producer whose work explores character-driven stories that blend melan-comedy (melancholy and comedy) with sincerity and heart. Raised by his Nonno and Nonna in the working-class suburbs of Newcastle, Stephen’s work is informed by themes of empathy, understanding, and multicultural identity.

As co-founder of KIT3, Stephen has produced films with support from the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Multicultural Commission, while also working across numerous short films, music videos, TVC’s, and web series. His work has been recognised at festivals including the St Kilda Film Festival, Catchlight Film Festival (formerly Sony Film Festival), and Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival. His postgraduate short Anna was selected for the 2023 Cannes Short Film Corner and earned an Australian Directors Guild Award nomination.

Currently working freelance, Stephen is committed to developing screen projects that reflect contemporary working-class struggles with optimism and hope, giving voice to underrepresented communities and revealing the humour, fragility, and resilience that exist in everyday life.
